A homeowner usually calls for landscape design when their yard feels uninviting, has drainage issues, or they simply want a fresh look. They might be tired of patchy grass, overgrown beds, or a layout that doesn't work for how they actually use the space. The goal is a plan that turns the yard into something they enjoy every day.

We start by walking the property with you, noting sun patterns, soil type, and existing drainage. Then we sketch a layout on paper or using design software, choosing plants suited to the local climate and hardscaping materials like flagstone, gravel, or pavers. We check grade changes and water flow before finalizing the plan. The tools we use include measuring wheels, soil probes, and levels.

The cost and timeline vary based on property size, soil condition, and how much grading or drainage work is needed. A yard with heavy clay or poor drainage takes more prep. Hardscaping like patios or retaining walls adds complexity. Access matters too: a narrow gate or sloped lot can slow delivery of materials. Plant selection, from simple shrubs to mature trees, also affects the budget.

On the day of installation, we protect existing structures, driveways, and plants with tarps and plywood. We stage materials in a spot that won't damage the lawn. After the work, we clean up all debris, sweep hard surfaces, and blow off the area. Before we arrive, clear the yard of furniture and toys. Afterward, water new plantings as we direct and hold off on heavy foot traffic for a few days.
